Come and enjoy the landscape and biodiversity of Prat d’Hort and get involved in its conservation.
This site consists of a ridge at around 1400 m with extensive pastures, natural springs and wet flushes. It runs from Coll de Sant Pere above Sentís (Sarroca de Bellera, Pallars Jussà) as far as Coll d’Art, near the village of Perves (El Pont de Suert, Alta Ribagorça), embracing El Tossal de Prat d’Hort, the most outstanding peak in the area.
In all, it covers 119 ha and is considerably larger than the majority of other micro-reserves, and it is hoped that it will be enlarged in the future with the signing of more stewardship agreements. Of special note, is the presence of the early marsh orchid Dactylorhiza incarnata, a typical species of calcareous flushes and part of the pre-Pyrenean Caricion davallianae habitat type. Other interesting taxa include butterflies, damselflies and dragonflies, grasshoppers and crickets.
All money donated will be used to conserve our wetlands and springs and study their biodiversity.
